    What's special

Situated on the northern edge of Geuda Springs, Kansas sits this 27 +/- acre parcel of land that is rich with history. Geuda, an Indian word for "healing springs" was used to describe the group of salt springs in the area and their ability to heal and cure. Prior to the Osage lands coming to market in the 1870s, this land was utilized greatly by several Indian tribes as they congregated around the springs and creek. In the late 1880s, the area became a destination town for people from all around the world to come and experience the medicinal benefits that the healing mineral springs provided and became a well-known health resort. Improvements such as hotels and bathhouses were erected to accommodate visitors, some of which are still partially standing on this land today. The mineral water was bottled and shipped all throughout the state of Kansas, and surrounding states. Today, the land holds remnants and memories of what used to be. The land, as it sits now, has a very diverse habitat which is ideal for sportsmen who enjoy chasing deer, ducks, and turkeys. Salt Creek traverses the property and remnants of the old dam used to create a 50-acre salt lake can be seen. There are around 11 acres of hardwood trees on the property and around 6 acres on the north end that was once productive farm ground but has since grown up. 1st Street splits the property and on the east side of the road is a small portion of farm ground, trees, and borders to Salt Creek. Most of the property is within the 100-year floodplain with the exception of a small portion on the far southwest corner.
