Glenwood is about 1/3 mi. long, to a dead-end, on a ridge between 2 wooded streams. There are 9 houses on it, no junk etc. The people I have talked to bought and are fixing their houses up. It's a pickup truck neighborhood but little crime and absolutely no traffic. A salt lick would attract many deer. You could put in a patio, garden or vegetables. Solar water heater is very feasible with grid back up. As a Geo Engineer I guarantee you could use a solar pump to get agricultural water so no water problem in summer. I feel going off grid completely is possible at a reasonable cost. [I have just started an aquaponics course, growing fish and vegetables together. My new place in Tx will have solar, well/septic and aquaponics. Not a nut but Eagle Scout] This concrete berm house on .57 acre [fenced] has 2 or 3 fair sized bed rooms, 2 living areas, smallish but convenient kitchen. The Full Bath has been remodeled. It has a patio and entrance way [mud room]. The outside dimensions are 34x78: about 2300 ft sq. including a large2 car garage. I bought this home thinking of living there. Now in Houston baby-sitting for my working daughter. Although the house is reasonably convenient as is and is good condition[with the best tenants have ever had paying $675] I had planned to convert the large 2 car attached integral garage where the water comes in to 2nd bath and modern Kitchen. [Rough quote $10k for a nice one]. Present Kitchen will become a bed room or enlarge a current one. There is a flat roof[2014] with new heat sealed material guaranteed for 20 years. Easy to get on via berm. It would be perfect for solar panels or gazebo. What I am selling is space not beauty. The inside is somewhat inconvenient but definitely livable. It has a Septic system [just cleaned $200 first time in 6 years] so no waste water bill; About 1/2 normal water bill. Because its Earth contact heat/air bill is very low. The house would suit someone who would like a very low maintenance place with the possibility of a large garden and very low utilities.
