The Francis Cattle Ranch is located 13 miles west of Cheyenne, Wyoming on Happy Jack Road.  Operated within the family for over 110 years, this ranch has withstood the test of time.  Excellent stock water can be found in each of the 30 pastures from the five creeks, developed springs, reservoirs and pipelined water tanks.  The 400 acres of flood irrigation hay meadows averages just under 1.5 tons of hay per acre per year providing winter feed.  Currently the ranch is holding 300 plus head with ample grass still remaining.   This ranch would be excellent for a yearling operation.  Spanning an area nearly 9 miles from east to west and 4 1/2 miles from north to south as a continuous block, the terrain is diverse from the lush creek bottom meadows to the grassy rolling hills.  Several areas of rock outcroppings stand along the old historic river banks.  These outcroppings offer protection for the cattle herd as well as the resident population of trophy mule deer and antelope.   The developed reservoirs catch the fall migration of waterfowl offering tremendous hunting.  The five streams and reservoirs also have the potential to be great fisheries.  This ranch is pleasant to operate due to it being a large continuous block of deeded acreage.
