The use of steel, concrete and glass lend to living spaces that defy classification. Sliding walls of glass retract to combine interior volumes with expansive outdoor decks, balconies and patios. Hallmark open plan living is perpetuated by convertible spaces that provide a multitude of options for use and reconfiguration by the modern family. In collaboration with architect Tom Marble and Design firm carciofi&jinglehyme, the owners re-envisioned a home that was informed by it's mid-century modern core but also drew on recent advancements in building materials, conservation techniques and emerging technologies like solar electric power.
