INCOME LEVEL Each application entry on the waiting list will indicate if the household is Very Low (50 % AMI) or Extremely Low (30% AMI). Depending on your specific property income, eligibility may also include Low (80% AMI). I WORK PREFERENCE Priority on the waiting list is given to applicants who meet one of the following 3 criteria: An applicant household where the head of household, co-head, or spouse is employed continuously at the same job for at least two (2) years at the time of application. An applicant household where the head of household, co-head, or spouse is a person with disabilities An applicant household where the head of household, co-head, or spouse is 62 or older (elderly) An applicant household where the head of household, co-head, or spouse is refugee/asylum seeker and is working/looking for work as a condition of their residency Once an applicant is assigned a work preference they keep that preference even if their situation changes. Next applicants selected will have 1-year work preference. Once those applicants have been exhausted, those with a 6-month work preference will be contacted and then those without a preference.
