Built in 1906, we are the 3rd owners. All the original woodwork is intact and has only been painted in the kitchen. The original house was 30 x 32, but a pantry was added on later. The pantry was opened up to give more space in the kitchen. A 1 1/2 story laundry room, and a 1 1/2 story 24 x 30 garage has been added. The room above the garage is assessable from the second story of the house through the room above the laundry room. The basement is under the entire original house. A sun room was added on the south, which greatly helped with cooling by shading the south facing windows. A deck was added on the north side.

What the owner loves about this home
We lived here 35 years and love being in the country. We really enjoy seeing the beautiful sunrises.
The house is 1.5 miles from Haven, which has a grocery store, K-12 schools, police, fire department and an ambulance service. The first mile is paved (Arlington Road). Haven is a very stable community, with (I'm guessing) over half the population living here most of their lives. It is located about a half hour from 3 job markets (Wichita, Hutchinson & Newton) - the far east side of Wichita is about 45 minutes. The Amish community of Yoder is 7 miles west, and Mt Hope is about 7 miles east. Haven has very low crime.
Our heart and soul is in this home, but it's time to downsize and live on one level. When we bought the home, the ceiling upstairs was falling in to the point you could see into the attic. We completely remodeled the kitchen and added the ground floor laundry room, sunroom, garage and deck. The basement is modern construction. The house was framed with southern yellow pine, which is as nearly as hard as oak. The 2 x 4's are actually 2" x 4" - this house is built to last.
