The ultimate Vermont building lot in so many ways. This mostly wooded acreage rises high above the Brown Covered Bridge, a National Historic Landmark abutting the property at its northeast corner. Underneath the bridge runs the winding Cold River, which directly fronts on the property's eastern boundary. Across the bank is Shrewsbury's popular Warren Swimming Hole, which is enjoyed by locals all Summer. On the far side of the covered bridge is a small parking area and a short trail that leads to the picnic area and wading pools. The best building spot is above the river at a flat area on Cold River Road, where there's just enough room before the topography drops off. It's too steep to walk from the building envelope straight down to the river, but the drive to the swimming hole parking lot takes less than a minute.
