This is a beautiful, well loved, one of a kind house on a one of a kind street where you can trust that your daughter will be safe walking alone and your car won't get stolen if you leave the keys in it. Everyone here drives golf carts and they drink and they fish and they go to Florida and obx. It's in an old fishing village in the very northern most neighborhood in Suffolk Va. The house was designed as a passive solar house and there was a two page spread in the Virginian Pilot when it was finished, with a rather handsome gentleman watering his tomato plants inside the house's solarium. It has a house within a shell design and three full sized doors on the roof that, along with a double back wall that forms a fully open passageway from the 1300 square foot heated and cooled basement (I'll get back to that) and a large permanently mounted fan in the attic, that allows you to fully ventilate the heat from the solarium by opening the 8 Anderson casement windows in front, all while keeping the living rooms and bedrooms fully air conditioned, thanks to the new HVAC I had installed by Fusion a couple of years back. The roof is new, installed Just last year. The basement was just completely excavated by Hawk foundation and it has been properly sealed from the outside with an underground drain system that includes a permanently installed but still accessible underground pump. It's ready to be finished again or to be a workshop or whatever you want to do in a 1300 ft² windowless underground waterproof space, like if you're preparing for the end times or something. The house was just recently connected to city water and sewer. It has a new washing machine, a new stove, a tile backsplash, and new flooring in the laundry room and pantry. It has a brand new 22'x10' deck from which three bodies of water are visible. This is a four bedroom house with three of the rooms being masters. Two are on the third floor and they're like little apartments almost, perfect for teenagers. The main bedroom is very nice with and extremely large closet and bathroom. It has three ways to get in or out. It's amazing. Some lvp in the solarium, installed by Empire, has gaps due to improper installation and I've had trouble getting Empire to honor the warranty so the problem persists. My chimney painter quit because he was afraid of heights so that still needs to be finished. I replaced the main load bearing post with a steel post and that needs to be wrapped. I'll probably get it wrapped with the same material as a needed new top on the Island if I get to it before it sells. There is a little baseboard trim and paint that needs to be addressed. But that's about it. THE BIG STUFF IS DONE! On the other lot (it's a double lot) is a metal roofed shed for a lawnmower. Hello! I've noticed a high volume of scammers and spammers contacting me due to this Zillow listing so if you're a real perspective buyer, please make that obvious in your communications. Don't sleep on this FSBO listing as the price will go up by $40,000 if I hire a listing agent.
