What the owner loves about this home
This home is in a much desired neighborhood just a couple of blocks from the Gulf At the mouth of the Anclote River. I've been in this home over thirty years, raised my children here. I bought it from the lady whose father owned a big chunk of property and build it for her in 1940. When I bought it, it was a duplex but we turned it into a single family home as my family grew. There is an Elementary School, Middle School and High School within walking distance. We attend the Calvary Baptist Church in the neighborhood. It's a charming old fashioned Church with wonderful people. The roads are old, some still sugar sand. Not much traffic. There are a few newer homes but mostly older been-here- forever locals. I don't know what the crime rate is legally but I've never seen much or experienced any. I know the history of this property for a hundred years and it has never flooded. This sweet home was definitely a fixer-upper. We put in new floor joists and floors, new walls, new roof, new windows (at least they were new in the 90's) and big stone fireplace in the living room. The living room and kitchen and one window filled bedroom, front porch and laundry room are on one level then it's one step down to two bathrooms and two bedrooms and a little open area with a set of french doors leading to the back yard.
