Galewood is a diverse community located just north of Oak Park. The area was sold to the City of Chicago by Oak Park when it was just farmland. Many people built homes here after WWII. The area is very diverse and has lots of parks and quiet streets, as well as the Mars candy factory. It has access to the CTA and Metra trains and the revitalized Brickyard Shoppnig area.
