This is a quiet, peaceful, nearly 10-acre parcel – approximately ½ grass and ½ woods. A good part of the grass is lush horse pasture fully enclosed by a 3-wire electric fence with two large metal pasture gates. Coming up the hill we see a 3-wire clothesline behind the 552 square foot detached garage. The garage has a firewood storage shed on the side to keep the Winter’s supply of firewood dry, and the front sports a 7’ x 8’ insulated lean-to greenhouse with lights and thermostatically controlled exhaust fan to keep plants green all winter. The back yard of the house is fenced-in for dogs or small children (or both), and has a 2-dog heated doghouse. The main house itself is a 2-bed, 2 full baths with kitchen, laundry room, and open living/dining area. In the living room is a fireplace with a Dove wood-burning stove insert that will heat the entire house in the coldest of winters. The under-the-house furnace unit was replaced in 2008, and both the house and garage had new roofs in 2009. By the side door is a small covered deck where I keep my trusty grill and 2 comfortable rocking chairs, and the front porch is ideal for sitting with a cup of coffee (or cocktail) while watching the horses graze in the front pasture and birds feeding and bathing in the front yard. The house is far enough from the road to not get noise from traffic, which is fairly sparse anyway since Old Orchard Road isn’t a main thoroughfare. It is a wonderful place to come home to and relax after a hard day’s work in the big city, and a paradise for horse lovers.
