Welcome to the Lake! Our magnificent lake house sits atop a hill above Crooked Lake with gorgeous lake views from just about every room in the house. Come and enjoy sweeping sunrises over the lake. It is the perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts with plenty of swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.. The property borders Waterloo Recreation Area with loads of hiking trails just out the door.. Additionally, the Sugar Loaf DTE Biking trail is just around the bend. AWD/4WD is a must as the road leading to the house is dirt., and although plowed by a neighbor in winter, can still be difficult to navigate at times. T The house is a spacious retreat with that up-North feeing while still having city options close-by.. When city life beckons (or necessitates), the property is 15 min from downtown Chelsea and an easy 30 min commute to Ann Arbor or Jackson. It is a great fit for those attending University of Michigan campus activities/classes or working remote full or part time. Come and live on the lake- you won't regret it! A few updates: We now have a 3-season porch off of the upstairs living room with wonderful views of the lake, a trail that is interspersed with stairs in spots to help ease your way to and from the lake, and a new patio to rest along the way.. Owner pays for internet/Wifi and winter road maintenance. Renter pays for gas (propane) and electric as this can add up to $300/month extra. There is no curbside trash service but the local waste center is just 5 min away. We are on well/septic. The house has a 2-car attached garage. No smoking. Pets ok as long as we know up front. Minimal outside maintenance is expected. Renters also need to be respectful of neighbors and observe our nightly quiet policy. Again, 4WD is mandatory. The house is available from September- May only. 4mo+ renters preferred.
