The neighborhood is spectacular with tree lined streets, sidewalks and many kids. It could safely be described as a sidewalk community where neighbors can be found congregating and socializing on the sidewalks year round. The exercise facility and community pool are really top notch. Completely new in 2005, these facilities are a rare commodity in this area. The best part about them is that there is no entry fee for either. In addition, there are many community sponsored groups. This is a diverse and close knit community that truly offers whatever may interest you. Another feature unusual for a city that is 0.6 sq. mile, is our own Police Department. It is always a good feeling to find your streets regularly patrolled by policemen you know by name. You can safely say that the City of Pleasant Ridge is unlike any other in the Metro Detroit area. We are small and friendly and have a strong sense of pride. We have a small town feel, yet are smack dab in the middle of the Detroit Metro area. The central location or the city is also a wonderful feature. We like to say that we can get anywhere in the Metro Detroit area in 20 min. or less. It is no exaggeration to claim that this is true!
