We bought our home, new, in 1945. Next door was a field that later became a splendid playground where the neighborhood children came to play, including our own. During WWII, the bombers flew right over our chimney, coming & going to Felts Field, the only airport at the time. Laura Rd., was a dead end. The house originally had 840 square feet and a full unfinished basement. We remodeled in 1968 and 1977, bringing it to 1000 square feet. At that time we replaced all the single pane windows. 1999, the roof was removed down to the rafters and new sheathing and pabco shingles & vinyl siding were installed. We hooked up to Sewer in 1994 and installed a 2nd bathroom in the basement - Great to have. There are Oak hardwood floors under the carpet. The main floor bathroom & all the plumbing were completely redone in 2001. A gas furnace & Central air conditioning were installed in 1998. The house is sound & has been a wonderful home. Our children thrived in the nearby schools & did well in the local unversities. I hope whoever buys this home enjoys it as much as we have. Owner of 67 years!
