    NOTE: This is a SHORT TERM sublet (approximately 4 months). For the past ten years, I have been traveling south to Mexico for the winters and will again be subletting my home in SE Portland for a tenth year. The house is fully furnished and potential sub-letters will be able to utilize everything in the home (linens, a well-stocked kitchen, electronics ... everything). This sublet worked perfectly the past nine years for individuals moving to Portland who wanted time to look at the different neighborhoods, get a feel for the housing market before purchasing, and basically arrive with a suitcase and be able to go to work on Monday without any stress or angst. GENERAL HOME DESCRIPTION: My home sits on three lots and is open and airy. People routinely say that they can't believe they're in Portland given how quiet it is and the neighbors are at least 100' away in all directions. The home is a mid century modern design with lots of windows and light. Even on the most cloudy of days you will not need to turn on a light during the daytime. The house is located on a quiet street with great neighbors. It is roughly located off of SE Holgate and 28th Avenue, four blocks north of Reed College. DATES OF SUBLET: December 1*, 2025, through March 31*, 2026 (approximately) *Dates are negotiable within reason. RENT: $2,500 per month and utilities are included in the rent. DEPOSIT: I will also ask for a $2,500 deposit that is fully refundable at move-out. I can provide the references of the previous tenants and all will tell you their deposit was returned. Each of them left the home clean and all personal possessions were intact. PETS: I have had dogs and cats for 20 years and allow pets. The house is set up for a dog(s) with lots of hard surfaces and a fully fenced and HUGE back yard. My dogs are on the smaller side (under 20 pounds) and in the 18 years I've lived in this house, they were never able to get out of the back yard. It is securely fenced. If you are bringing a pet, depending on the pet(s) there may be an additional pet deposit. NO SMOKING: My home is smoke free and I want it to remain that way. LAUNDRY: There is a washer/dryer in the house. BEDROOMS: The house has two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other bedroom has a full size bed. The house has been rented to couples who share the main bedroom. If you want your own bed I can make arrangements to move out the full bed (which will need to be stored in the spare bedroom). BATHROOM: You'll see in the photos a picture of the bathroom. There is only a walk-in shower; no bathtub. SWIMMING POOL: You'll see a swimming pool in the pictures. Sadly, it will be winterized before I leave and covered with a safety cover. The safety cover is extremely sturdy so there is no way an animal or person can fall through. For additional questions or to schedule a tour* please respond to this Zillow posting. *If you are currently in another city and looking to relocate to Portland, two of the last three subletters were coming from another state and had friends in Portland come over to look at the house and report back to them. The lease dates are from December 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026. $2,500 per month rent with a $2,500 security deposit that is completely refundable if the property is left in good condition. Pets are allowed. Depending on the pet, there may be a monthly fee or additional security deposit.
