LOCATION: A five-minute walk from Preston Beach. Easy access to the Rail Trail, a walking/biking path between Swampscott and downtown Marblehead (a great way for kids to bike or walk safely to school!) Eveleth playground just around the corner. NEIGHBORHOOD: Carlton Road is like an extended cul-de-sac — very little traffic, tons of kids. Being on the Swampscott-end of MHD is a real bonus to our commute. SIZE: We’re a family of six. This house offers everyone a place to be alone, as well as three different areas where we can spend time together. In 2020, two adults worked from home alongside four teenagers doing remote schooling and everyone had the space and privacy they needed. LAYOUT: Great flow and a really efficient use of space — every room is good-sized and easy to access from all other parts of the house. EXTRAS: Central A/C is a huge bonus in the summer! In the winter, there’s an efficient and cozy fireplace in the main living room. The backyard is fully fenced with both a deck and a patio area for outdoor dining. The roof is only 5-years-old and there are new Harvey windows in every room. Hardwood floors on the main and upstairs level, practical tile on the downstairs level (easy to clean up the sand when you come in from the beach through the back door!). TONS of storage on the downstairs level.
