A Little bit of History In June 1947, Austin residents were invited to send their children to the first summer camp opened in the area we now know as Westlake Hills. The property, which operated as the Country Day School during the school year and Camp Craft during the summer, is located at 402 Camp Craft Road. It is said that Lucy Baines Johnson and Willie Nelson sent their children to Camp Craft and many Austin local celebrities spent their summers here as well.
