The best buying experience
Response from the builderHi Marifred, we are glad to hear you had an exceptional experience with us! Thank you for choosing LGI Homes and congratulations on your new home.

LGI sales team attempted to bully us into using their lender, LGI Sales Manager did not cooperate with our lender thereby making us go 3 weeks past closing date Finishes on interior/exterior Paint, concrete surfaces, drywall finishing do not meet industry standards. Many short cuts were made to save LGI money to the detriment of the home buyer and overall value of the home. I made every effort to address my grievances to the appropriate chain of command, beginning with my sales person, the community sales manager, the VP of Sales, I then escalated to corporate office where I left 4 voice mails, two emails which were all ignored. Once we are finished moving in, I most likely will be escalating my situation to the county contractors board, real estate board and if necessary, I will get a real estate attorney to bring resolution to my case.
Response from the builderHi Joshua, we are concerned by your review and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We have sent your information to our management team in order to investigate further to find a solution. LGI Homes are built to the highest quality standards and our homes undergo several inspections during the construction process and are certified by independent inspectors. However, we do recognize that with new construction occasionally repairs will need to be made which is why it is backed by an industry leading warranty. If any items have not been addressed by our team yet, please submit them through the online warranty portal.

The whole process with the loan company being unorganized, forgetful and constantly asking for same documents over and over even though they were (Emailed and texted) was just ridiculous…Not on same page with the loan officer at all… we put $1000 down to lock us in 3.5% and then they tell us at closing after documents we’re printed up that it was 4.99% which was not fair as our $1000 was to lock the rates. The loan officer didn’t read her emails, repeatedly ask for same documentation over and over gave us zero time to resend, costing us 2 additional weeks as we work out in the field not sitting behind a desk… she didn’t answer phone calls or texts when my wife called her but answered every call I made to her… I had to call her to just to tell her reach out to my wife … I work in construction having to stop my truck to call her when she could have just answered my wife’s calls would have been nice….I had no documentation as my wife had all of it… Then the Loan officer would call at the last minute demanding repeat documents … when I started my buying process I had 4 friends that have perfect credit and very well paid jobs also in construction and are looking to buy but with all the problems they heard me and my wife experience with all the disorganized and dysfunction that we went through and not to mention NOT closing with the promised 3.5% discouraged them from wanting to purchase any of the LGI homes with the fear it would happen to them.. Word is bond but I guess that was just a lie and a quick way to get $1000 with no honesty behind it.. The salesman in the office was nice and polite as we had “No” problems with the office staff but the loan company was a horrible experience … we were so upset about the increase in the percentage rate spiking up as a promise on paper is just that a promise contract but it was not honored. My friends decided not to go with LGI and that’s sad because had this experience have been smoother with the loan officer it would have been an enjoyable experience which it was not instead it was a stressful nightmare. So sad a horrible experience for a first time buyer.
