The log cabin is an American icon. The rough-hewn, humble house has long been lionized in our lore. It was the gritty abode of folk heroes like Daniel Boone. The lowly domicile of one of the nation's greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln. The shelter of pioneers and immigrants seeking their dreams in the wilderness. It's a symbol of honesty, hard work, and unvarnished truth central to our national identity. This hand hewn log cabin was built in 1945. "She" is centrally located overlooking Evergreen Golf Course and affectionately named "Wild Elk log cabin" and pairs beautifully with the natural-kept landscape inviting wildlife to live on the land year round. Did you know there are only 202 residential hand hewn log cabins currently available in the entire state of Colorado! The cabin's design is focused on natural, quality carpentry, detail, function and energy savings, the pursuit of sustainability and a small footprint. Quality baths, kitchen and additional home hardware were picked with the mountain design utilized. Quality window blinds are provided. Lighting designed with dimmers. All electrical and plumbing has been updated to include a new gas furnace & gas hot water tank. The cabin is on Evergreen's city water and sewer. The cabin has the great southwestern sky to help naturally heat and light the interior. We expanded the cabin adding a 3/4 bath for the large master bedroom upstairs and built a walk-in closet. This bedroom is the entire 2nd floor, offering beautiful golf course views with open space so no artifical light for the gorgeous western mountain views. The 2nd bedroom is conveniently located downstairs adjacent to the full bath. There is a full kitchen with plenty of cabinet space, a bar, a large pantry and all the desired appliances: refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, dishwasher. The great room hosts a Lopi wood burner with an adjoining wood storage cabinet, surround wood shelving and built in shelving for a medium screen TV. The dining room is next to the kitchen overlooking the large flagstone patio that overlooks the golf course in a private setting and includes exterior electrical and lighting. Included is a laundry room housing a full size washer and gas dryer which is located separately in the detached garage on the property. The 2 story garage stacks a flat above where the owner lives. The buildings are totally separate, structurally and utility wise. They were built to be separate and private from the other. The driveway opens to 3 lanes and is relatively flat. The garage is used by the owner. An 8'x10' Tuff shed with lighting and outlets was recently built close to the log cabin for the tenant's exclusive use to store outdoor gear, patio furnitue and required yard tools. There are also 4 moderate sized storage areas in the cabin.
