We converted the Dry Run store, a cement block building, into a lodge with a wraparound porch, loft, modernized electrical and HVAC systems, and kitchen. The store was the hub of the community for 60 years but lay empty for over 10 years until we made it into a comfortable home for two or three people. We provide the furniture and cooking utensils. Fiber optic internet is available for $45/month. Water is provided. Electricity averages $150/month. Located on a rural road the front porch views Stone Mountain, an 1860 home and farm, fields, and forests. From the back porch the creek and mountain calm and refresh. The inside has tongue-in-groove ceilings and paneling with rustic barn siding and a patina, metal barn roof wainscoting. The owner provides water. The renter pays the electric, internet, and cable bills. Garbage collection costs an additional $30 monthly with the rent, but will be refunded if garbage is bagged and does not exceed the two garbage can capacity or the one roll-away trash bin capacity. Linens are not provided for long-term guests. Late fees of $10/day apply after the first of the month. Clogged pipes cost a minimum of $500. Don't flush wipes, tampons, pads, paper towels, etc. Only flush toilet paper with a flush. Don't pour any grease or food down the drains. Wipe plates and pans with napkins or paper towels to place the grease and food particles in the garbage. Coffee grounds can be rinsed down the drain. Broken appliances require a $150 copayment from the renter. Issues with plumbing, HVAC, leaks, electricity, or mechanical issues should be reported immediately. Guests may not stay more than 10 days in three months. Extra daily rates of $20/day will apply but longer stays must be approved by the landlord prior to the stay. Please read the lease carefully for additional clarifications and details.
