The Dragoon Mountain Ranch subdivision is in St David AZ. The ranch consists of approximately 14,000 acres and adjoins 52,000 acres of the Coronado National Forest wilderness area. The ranch is also adjacent to thousands of acres of State Trust lands. Both the National Forest and State Trust lands provide a wildlife sanctuary. Originally the Horse Ranch was established in the 1800's. Cochise Stronghold is in the Dragoon Mountains and is where the famous Apache chief Cochise is buried. The adjacent Dragoons as well as the Rincons range to an elevation of over 7000 feet. Nearby towns and cities are Benson, Bisbee, Tombstone, Willcox and Sierra Vista all in Cochise County. Tucson is about an hour drive from the ranch and has a population of over a ½ million.
