Galleta Ranch has been a family-owned and operated cattle ranch for over 80 years. The family has been operating a big game hunting program providing outfitted and guided hunts for Elk, Mule deer, and Pronghorn. The ranch provides good forage and water availability for maintaining elk, mule deer, and pronghorn use on the property. The terrain consists of open meadows, beautiful ponderosa pines, Gambel oak, and pinion and juniper trees. Unique Lava rock formations persist throughout pinion/juniper forested areas on the eastern portion of the ranch adding to the diverse natural resources on the property. The area is rich with historic Native American Puebloan occupancy, and near the path, Spanish conquistadors traveled in search of a medieval myth of golden cities to be found at a place called Cibola. Ruins and fascinating petroglyphs can be found on the ranch. Unbelievable panoramic views of red sandstone bluffs, majestic Oso Ridge of the Zuni Mountains and the chain of volcanic craters can be seen from confines of the ranch.
