Perfect for those that want quiet and seclusion at the end of the day. It's just a 15 minute drive (6 miles) from downtown in a secure gated community off Double Arrow Road. It's a 1900 square foot strawbale house. The walls are thick and keep the heat in in the winter, and it stays cool in the summer. The walls have a venetian plaster and patina. French doors surround the open concept living room with an 18 foot ceiling and skylights, making it bright and spacious. There are 2 fireplaces, 1 in the living room and 1 in the master bedroom. Radiant heat throughout the house. There is a small office space next to the kitchen. Perfect for a home office or mediation room. The house has natural gas, and a Comstock-Castle commercial 6 burner stove. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub with a shower above it. We have our own well on the property, shared with the neighbors, meaning clean healthy water and no water bill. Step outside the house and you can go on great hikes (about a 20 min walk to St. John's). There is little to no light pollution at night meaning great stargazing year round. There is minimal landscaping around the house, surrounded by large trees and a small deck on the back patio. The walls have just been re-plastered so we ask that nothing is nailed into the wall so if you have lots of art/posters that you want up this is unfortunately not the home for you! Sorry about that! We have a septic tank so you can't put anything but Scott's (or similar) toilet paper as it is thin and will not clog it. There is no garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. Lastly, you will need a 4 wheel for the winter if/when it snows. note: it is no longer furnished as the previous tenants wanted it unfurnished but can add some of the furnishings that were previously in there if wanted.
