The Black Canyon Ranch is located inside the historic Leona Ranch, roughly 14 miles north of Brackettville, Tx. off Highway 674. The ranch is roughly 4 miles off Hwy 674, access is provided by a recorded easement via a caliche road. The ranch is located on the southern edge of the Edwards Plateau, known throughout Texas for its abundance of whitetail deer, turkey and more recently free-range exotics. There are significant elevation changes creating multiple high locations with long range scenic views as well as several large canyons making the terrain rugged and scenic at the same time. Vegetation on the ranch is primarily live oak and cedar with a mixture of Edwards Plateau and south Texas brush. In addition to the abundant deer population found on the ranch, hunters will find Rio Grande turkey, feral hogs, quail, doves and free-range exotics such as Axis and Aoudads.
