This very special garden, with several fruit trees, was designed to offer a place to unwind, relax and appreciate the nature around us. The rock water feature and fire rock set the stage. This garden was featured SF Gate 2011.Two car tandem garage with pull down stairway to a huge storage area. A window and sink were added to the garage. Don't miss the automatic Tunisian gates at the driveway. (Further information below in the seller's list of improvements)Built in 1994; 1937 square feet, as per county recordsArchitect - Larry WeberSee seller comments below:1999: Recycled wood and hand carved by 1st owner. All edges of slates were hand chipped to give them aged appearance. Klinker bricks used for fireplace were recycled from a torn down kiln.Since 1999:Studio:The ground of the studio was concrete without structure. My intent was to create a home away from home oasis with the same design concept as the main house. A Greek style soaking tub was placed. When covered, this tub appears as a window seat. A gas stove was placed to provide warmth. I personally hand painted each tile. Garden: The garden was designed with a theme. I wanted to capture the sense of time and impermanence of life. 75% of the plants were California natives that required minimal watering. A small water feature provides soothing sound, a build in propane fueled and controlled fire flame adds another element of nature. This garden was featured in SF Gate on April 20, 2011.The front yard was extended with City of Oakland's permission. An automatic drip system was installed for all areas of the garden.Garden lights were installed in front, court and back yard.Gate:I found this gate in SF. A cast iron gate (heavy as a result) that came from Tunisia. The design of this gate reflected French occupation of Tunisia between 1881 and 1956. I restored the gate with Bay area craftsman. Based on the technique of manufacturing, this gate dated to ~ 100 years old. A unique turning device was chosen to avoid interference to the overall aesthetics of the gate.An automatic opening device was installed as well. The foyer:Lighting was installed above wood beam. The space above fireplace:Lights were installed to provide drama and create a potential space for installation art.Fireplace:A belly was created to ensure efficient air flow.Refrigerator:A wooden exterior was installed to mimic aesthetics of the house.Bedrooms:Closets were redesigned to create more storage space.Lighting was installed in the clos
