Burbank Gardens, two blocks South of downtown Santa Rosa, is a local historic district recognized in 2003 by the City Council, consisting of 19th Century farmhouses and a large concentration of Queen Anne Cottages, Craftsman Bungalows, Tudor Revivals and Spanish and Mediterranean Revivals. Famed horticulturist Luther Burbank lived in this neighborhood from 1875 until his death in 1926. We're a working class neighborhood with an active Neighborhood Association who actively advocate for neighborhood services and funds from the city. With easy pedestrian access to the Prince Greenway and Santa Rosa Creek, Juilliard Park, downtown restaurants and shops, Burbank Gardens is a residential enclave with all of the benefits of living downtown, but few of the drawbacks associated with urban living.
