This property is/was our beloved home away from home. It’s a total of 15.31 acres that sits just below the top of the mountain over looking the Youghiogheny River Lake/Reservoir. It has incredible views in both directions of the lake, one having the picturesque view of the Youghiogheny River Lake Bridge that is Route 40, the National Pike. My family purchased this property in 1970 and it has been the only constant home of my entire life. (this was due to my father‘s occupation, almost every 10 years we would move.) Even though it is completely rural camp in the woods, it was our retreat. So if you’ve read this far, you can tell it’s a sentimental piece of property. My parents are now 89 and 90 years old. Over the last two decades their ability to visit slowed down and then came to a complete halt. The property has been selectively timbered twice. The last time being 10 years ago. As you know properties must be maintained, during those past 10 years the undergrowth took over. There is a lane that leads to the cabin area of the property. But it certainly needs to be fully opened again. The property does have electric service which would have to be reinstalled at the cabin and at the line that is on Newberry Road. The line leading from the road to the cabin is still in place as well as the 3 posts that carry it. We realize our sentimentality has nothing to do with value or pricing of the property but it is a good 20%. T he main reason, is about its location on The Mountain. This property is one of the few properties that has a dynamic view of the Youghiogheny River Lake Reservoir. And it is large enough to hold more than just a shack in the woods.
