This Charles Thompson home is exactly as originally designed inside and out and is eligible for the National Historic Register. Also, the home does NOT have a facade easement although it is subject to the City of Little Rock rules for the Governor's Mansion Historic District. There is an efficiency garage apartment (originally chauffeur's quarters) above the 3-car garage and an open, finished, third-floor attic room (originally maid's quarters and subsequently used as a rental apartment in the '60s) with laundry sink and partial bathroom (clawfoot tub & commode under the eaves). The home's interior corresponds exactly to the original blueprints (copies on hand) except for an additional closet added to the northeast bedroom.
