Built in approximately 1767, the Rodger McGill House is located in the Battery Park area of Hemingway. In 1825, the house was moved three quarters of a mile south of its Indian Town Swamp site. Apparently the structure remained unaltered - the small windows of the second story, for example, indicate that a piazza has always encircled the dwelling. The columns are of particular interest, for they were hand-hewn rather than turned on a lathe. This property sits on a 21 acre parcel of land and is approached via an avenue of oaks complete with fountain. In addition to the main house, there is a one-story frame guest house with a covered porch and carport (currently rented). Additionally there is an in-ground swimming pool and a separate BBQ shed.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
