BEARBERRY ISLAND is 5 miles east of Eagle Harbor and 2 miles west of Agate Harbor on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The island is 3 acres in size and lies only a few hundred feet off shore. The island is part of an archipelago so access is well protected unless a gale is blowing due east or west. A shore station on the mainland provides boat storage and parking for your vehicle. After much experimentation, the owner has found that the best craft for access to the island is a rigid inflatable boat (like Navy Seals use.) it is 11.5 feet in length with a 15 hp outboard. It is kept on a trailer and launched using an ATV. This really works well, and comes with the property. NOTE: The map shows the approximate location of the shore station; the island is close by, off shore, near Eagle Harbor, MI. The address is wrong, but it's as close as we can get -- islands don't have street addresses. Click on the link below and go to the website!
