Sunlight shining into the dining room solarium makes this a getaway a standout--especially as the days shorten during winter. For events and get togethers (no overnight) we charge an additional $10/person after 6 people to account for additional wear and tear to our beautiful home. Thank you for understanding. Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson is a 30 minute drive. Guest have access to everything with the exception of the Garage. Guests are free to contact us anytime by use of text, email, or phone calls. We like to give our guests privacy. This is a very safe kid-friendly established neighborhood where you will see people walking outdoors throughout the long summer days. One block away you will find a Carrs Grocery Store, fast food/restaurant options (McDonald's, Peking Wok Chinese, Taco Bell, Subway, Great Alaskan Pizza Company, Shanghai Tea Garden, Ronnie Sushi), Campbell Lake, Major Marine Tours (where you can book all of your Alaskan day cruises, private charters, and whale watching glacier seeking experiences), an urgent care, and a 24-hr Alaska Club gym with yoga studio (silver-level). Each of the above can easily be walked to in the summer months, but free parking is easily available if you prefer to drive. 10 minutes driving is Kincaid Park (also free parking) for world class mountain biking, hiking, wildlife viewing, and XC skiing. It's almost impossible to not see moose when you go. Walk down to the Kincaid Chalet parking, and you'll find the beautiful coastal trail--perfect for a stroll or bike ride. The airport is also only 10 minutes away. Downtown is 15 minutes away (free parking on weekends and evenings after 6pm). Beluga Point is 20 minutes away and definitely worth the drive. If you're lucky you'll see the Belugas! If moose are in the yard please be careful and avoid. They can be more dangerous than bears.
