While the lease is listed as month to month, we would like to find a long term housemate. It is always a matter of being a good fit (for you and for us!). THE HOUSE We endeavor to co-create highly functional spaces. This includes well-working appliances, well-maintained structures, and probably most importantly a high-functioning social community that is relaxed and communicative. The house was built in 1890 and had a rad remodel in 1979. The house has ample private outdoor space, with shade trees and a gardening area. Lots of spots for curling up with a book (or your laptop). Lots of windows, and the house can be drafty, which means hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Go figure! 4 bed, 1.5 bath, the half bath is also the laundry room. Hardwood floors throughout. THE ROOM The room available is our "skylight room" on the 2nd floor, just off the full bath. This room would not likely be a good fit for light sleepers. This room has tons of natural light with a beautiful skylight and a built-in closet and drawers. It is one of the warmer rooms in the house in the winter and can also be warm in the summer. Some other notes Everyday use of substances does not work in this house. We have been doing this for over 6 years and we know this. Please do not be in denial of your own substance use and think we will not pick up on it. Occasional and responsible substance use is not frowned upon. We work to be reflective of how our words and actions affect others. Trust and clear communication form the foundation of our home we are looking for someone who is emotionally intelligent and works to communicate with respect. We help each other properly recycle, keep the house clean, and share our stories, food, and time. No pets per lease, no exceptions. Applications from folks on all avenues of life are welcome to apply! Currently, all entrances to our house have stairs. Our home is not wheelchair-accessible at this time. There are other formal common space rules and guidelines that serve as a reference and keep us all on the same page. I will share those with interested parties. In addition to cleaning up after ourselves, we all contribute to light exterior upkeep (mowing, sweeping, snow removal) for our benefit and the benefit of the neighborhood. Plan to chip in. Only street parking is available, and parking is extremely tight in our neighborhood!
