We are looking for new housemates to join our beautiful North Petworth group house! Ideally, we are look for people who wish to stay in the house for at least a year. The house has a spacious living room, kitchen, and dining room. The living room even comes complete with a DIY bike rack that has served to store up to five bikes comfortably to save floor space! In order to keep the house as clean and comfortable as possible, we do ask that each tenant participate in a chore chart and keep each other accountable to respect the property. We'd prefer to keep the house a drug- and smoke-free space. Unfortunately, we currently have a no pets policy. The house is located on a quiet street on the northern side of Petworth. We're about a 15-minute walk to the Fort Totten Metro and a 20-minute walk from the Petworth Metro. A new Aldi just opened up on the other side of the metro and is within easy walking and biking distance. There is also a Safeway, an Organic food market, a local quick mart, and cvs all within comfortable walking and/or biking distance. The coffee shop La Coop is also within walking distance and is highly rated! There is on street parking and plenty of space as we are a residential area. If you do own a car, please note that we are located between two streets that are regularly swept by the city (Mondays and Tuesdays). For any further information about parking, please see DC regulations and guidelines. Petworth hosts a farmer's market in the summer, which we like to frequent. Just north of us, Takoma also hosts a farmer's market that runs year round. Takoma also has a community rec centre, which some of us are members of (it's free), and like to spend time at their pool swimming laps, on the soccer field, or at the tennis court. It's a six person house--all young professionals with fairly different work schedules. We enjoy living together but are also very independent--we have our own social lives but are very respectful of each other's space.
