Explore these festive interiors, and stay socially distanced, with Zillow 3D Home®.
For many of us, getting into the holiday spirit doesn’t stop with putting up our own decorations — it’s also about enjoying the jovial creativity behind the historical homes in our communities. Holiday home tours are a staple of the season for some, and are an opportunity to deck the halls, raise money for local nonprofits, and conjure up a little cheerful inspiration.
The pandemic has meant organizers and homeowners have had to scale back in-person visits this year, but with help from Zillow's integrated and immersive 3D Home tours and digital floor plans, you can now tour the four holiday homes below from anywhere.
Read the story behind each home and navigate through the virtual tour to discover a range of adornments, from more customary nutcrackers, to festive flamingos. And don’t forget to share on your favorite social channels to help us expand access to this beloved holiday tradition.
Address: 120 S. Clarke St., Milledgeville, GA 31061
This high Greek revival-style mansion was home to Georgia’s governors between 1839 and 1868. After the seat of state government moved to Atlanta, the mansion was given to Georgia Normal & Industrial College (now known as Georgia College) and became the school’s founding building in 1889.
It’s currently a museum year-round, but the holiday season is “generally our visitors’ favorite time to come,” said Matthew S. Davis, the college’s Director of Historic Museums. The mansion’s mid-19th-century design carries over to the holiday decorations, which take a committee of locals about two weeks to complete each year.

The Lucy Cottage was built in 1882, making it one of the oldest homes in Fernandina's New Town.
With its steep roof, verge boards and narrow, lancet windows, this Gothic Revival-style house doesn’t need much decorating to stand out. Owner Deborah Conner thinks of decor as “adding ‘jewelry’ to the beautiful architecture and historic elements already existing.” Her approach, in collaboration with Lillian Adeline Designs, includes fresh poinsettias and a striking white Christmas tree.

This home embodies the late Queen Anne Victorian style that was popular in Fernandina's New Town when it was built in the late 19th century. A recently completed restoration focused on the home's original colors and layout while still updating it for modern living.
Holiday tour visitors are greeted in the entry hall by a twinkling Christmas tree and a garland-draped staircase guarded by nutcrackers. Check out the tour below to see how many other nutcrackers you can spot around the rest of the house.

The tour of the Deering Estate features two distinct buildings. The Richmond Cottage, built in 1896 and operated as a hotel in the early 1900s, is one of the oldest wooden structures in Miami Dade County. The Stone House is a three-story Mediterranean Revival structure added to the property in 1922.
The Deering Estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, owned by the State of Florida and managed by the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. As a cultural and educational facility, it features historic images and artifacts, research opportunities, and classes and programs for children and adults.
Holiday decorations at the estate take on a different design theme each year; this year, it’s Vintage Florida, with nautical elements and pink flamingos.
