I'm truly disappointed to read this review, especially nearly two years after the purchase and after what I believed was a positive experience for my clients. I take great pride in the level of service, communication, and advocacy I provide to every buyer I represent, and this situation was no different. These clients were relocating from out of state, and I worked closely with the wife and her father throughout the process, showing them multiple properties in Southern Maryland. The home they ultimately purchased was one they found and were immediately drawn to, not one I suggested. In fact, I expressed hesitation about the property from the beginning, particularly because it was listed as an "entry-only" MLS listing. This meant all communication had to go directly through the seller, not something I prefer, and I made that clear to my clients. When the seller informed us there were multiple offers, I relayed that information, and my clients chose to strengthen their offer by waiving the general home inspection, a decision I advised against. I always recommend a full inspection, and I made that recommendation here as well. Despite this, we moved forward with the required VA inspections (water quality and termite), and when both presented issues, I successfully negotiated with the seller to have them remediated, to my clients’ satisfaction. As for the pricing, the home was listed in line with other properties they were considering, and the VA appraisal came in nearly $40,000 over the purchase price, with no repairs required, further validating its market value at the time. After settlement, I received positive feedback from the buyers, and I continued to support them when they later reached out regarding issues that had come up. I responded promptly, referred them to a reputable real estate attorney, and offered to assist further if needed. At no point in that conversation was blame placed on me. I sympathize with any challenges they've faced since moving in, homeownership can come with unexpected issues, especially in unique or older properties. However, it's disheartening to see my efforts misrepresented and my professionalism questioned in this way. I encourage anyone reading this to also review the many other reviews I’ve received, which reflect the consistent dedication I bring to each client relationship.
