Bill grew up in Upstate NY, around Albany.  He went to the University of Buffalo where he received a BA in psychology.  

After college, Bill became an Air Force pilot and after his Air Force service, Bill joined NY telephone as a management trainee.  After 2 years, he realized the error of his ways and became an airline pilot for 30 years.
