Arlington, Texas, and moved to California in 2004 to follow my dreams

of becoming a professional musician. Shortly before the move, I was

diagnosed with a brain tumor. I know—scary, right? I had surgery to

remove the tomato-sized tumor and spent a decade fighting to recover.
