Daniel was raised in Weston, West Virginia. He grew up hunting with his father from age 3 and was hunting on his own by age 7. The outdoors and sports were Daniel's life until college entrance at West Virginia University where he majored in Recreation and Parks Management. After this, Daniel went to hunting guide school in Montana and began guiding elk hunts.
