Hey Jonathan, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review—my first 1-star. This has certainly been an interesting experience. While I’m not sure how this pertains to my business as a Realtor, I’ll briefly address it. To clarify, this was my personal rental property, and I followed the lease agreement we both signed at the start of your tenancy. All of our communications were documented via text, and the lease terms were clear from the beginning. All California landlord-tenant laws were followed, including providing a detailed accounting of deductions, which covered necessary repairs beyond normal wear and tear, as well as the prorated rent due under the lease’s 30-day notice requirement. You are the only tenant I’ve ever had in this property that I needed to deduct a cent from their deposit, which speaks for itself. I take pride in selecting quality tenants, and unfortunately, this experience proved to be an exception. Providing housing in California comes with many challenges, and situations like this only make it more difficult for landlords to offer well-maintained rentals to those who need them. That said, I sincerely appreciate your service and wish you the best in your retirement. It’s clear you have plenty of time on your hands, and I truly hope you find the support and guidance you need.
