Gayle was married to the late Wilbur Clevenger, former Elliot County Court Clerk and is the mother of three children. Her daughter, Jessica Simmons, is a Guidance Counselor at the Elliot County High School, her son, Casey, lives and works in Coco Beach, FL, and her son, Brady, is a partner in a health care systems business in Lexington, KY.
