Chris, I am sorry you feel that there was any judgement of you based on your appearance. That could not be further from the truth. We had a connection in life experiences we shared at some length on the phone before the showing. In fact we spoke that your expertise in the electrical field is something that may help us work together on future projects. I am afraid that I have to be firm with the requirements of our application process. I have a duty to my client to ensure all information is collected and verified. I have serious liability issues if the process is not done correctly. I can not approve you on the spot and I am sorry that you somehow thought that was what would happen. I must process the applications, run the backgrounds, and present to the owner for approval. Then draft the lease and get it to both parties for approval and signature. This process does take time. It is incumbent on you as the applicant must provide proper and verifiable documentation. You were provided with the information in advance of the showing. At that time you and your wife still had not submitted both applications as indicated in the instructions, you did not have the proper signed documentation, and we cannot accept a cash payment at the showing. I understand this frustrated you and I am sorry we were not able to work together. I wish you well with your home search.
