I am sorry to hear this experience felt disappointing to you, but I feel it’s important to clarify several key facts for the sake of transparency. We took over management of this property several years ago from a prior manager who had passed away. At that time, there were no leases, no financial records, no tenant files, and no deposits available. The property was significantly under market value, and per the express wishes of the landlords at that time — an elderly brother and sister — we were asked to keep all tenants and vendors in place with minimal disruption. Over the course of our management, we raised rents to reflect current market conditions, conducted quarterly inspections, and maintained detailed records, all of which were provided in full to the current family members now taking over. Any claims of withheld information or accounting irregularities are simply inaccurate. All documents were made available, and we continue to stand behind the accuracy and clarity of our bookkeeping. Regarding the smoking complaint: this was a pre-existing condition prior to our management, and we were transparent about that from the beginning. While our leases prohibit indoor smoking, we cannot reverse years of prior damage, especially when tenants had been smoking for many years before our involvement. Additionally, it's important to note that our staff was contacted under false pretenses — claiming an emergency — while out of the country on personal time, which was an unfortunate and inappropriate way to seek information that had already been shared. I understand emotions can run high in situations where family members step in to handle property matters unexpectedly, especially during times of illness. However, the narrative in this review does not reflect the professional and diligent work that was performed — within the bounds of the law and the instructions of the owners at the time. I sincerely wish the family well and hope they find success with their new manager. Should any unresolved questions remain, we are happy to address them through appropriate channels.
