Owner of Rental Property: As the landlord of the property at 7100 Delegate Pl, I feel compelled to address the review left by Mary Jacques or her client. The claims made in this review are not only inaccurate but also deeply troubling in their misrepresentation of events and breach of privacy. First and foremost, the agent, Sim Bains, acted professionally and ethically throughout the entire process. It was clearly communicated to the reviewer that their application would be accepted only if they met the specified terms. However, they failed to respond or meet those terms in a timely manner. During this time, a more qualified applicant came forward whose offer aligned with my needs, and I chose to move forward with them—a decision that I, as the landlord, am fully entitled to make. What is most upsetting is the decision to publicly include my address in this review. This is a gross invasion of privacy and puts me at unnecessary risk. Sharing sensitive information like this is unethical and completely inappropriate in a professional setting. Furthermore, the accusations of unethical behavior against Sim are entirely unfounded. She was fulfilling her fiduciary responsibility to me as the landlord by securing the best-qualified applicant for my property. This review not only misrepresents the facts but also unfairly attacks someone who was acting in my best interest. She had reached out to Mary via phone and email before accepting the other application and communicated that another application was received. She even sent an apology to Mary's email since she believes in making each transaction smooth for all parties involved. Lastly, regarding the application fee: it is standard practice for this fee to be non-refundable, as it covers administrative costs such as credit and background checks. To demand reimbursement after failing to finalize terms is unreasonable. The application can be downloaded from the site to be used for other rental units as well.
