Fran resides in New Haven with her husband, Jamie Cohen. She is a Council Member of Women's Health Research at Yale (WHRY),  the current Chair of its Nominating Committee, and served as Co-Chair of the WHRY 2005 'Women of Vision' Event. Fran is also a member of the Steering Committee of 'Books Sandwiched In', at the New Haven Public Library, and serves on Long Wharf Theatre's Gala Committee.
