Gary was born and raised around the Kansas City area, and enlisted in the Air Force reserves in the fall of 1984. After 22 years and several deployments around the world, Gary retired in 2006. In addition to serving in the Air Forces reserves, Gary was a courier for 26 years in the Kansas City area.
