Hello Ernesto. I am sorry that you feel I was not honest with you. Our meeting was very brief, and you were in a hurry to list the home for sale. The front page of our listing agreement, which you signed in person, and received a copy of, mentions the 1 year term of the listing agreement, which is negotiable. And the cancellation policy of 1% of the list price is clearly stated in the agreement as well. As you can imagine, it can be a lot to read you a 6 page agreement in a limited meeting time, when your customer says he wanted the home listed yesterday, which is why I supplied a copy for you to review, and got to work right away. However, when you asked what happens to all the marketing costs if the home does not sell, I took the time to address that question honestly, telling you if the home does not sell unfortunately those costs are on me, as your agent. You did not ask what happens if you cancel the listing agreement. If you had, I would have told you our cancellation fee. I do want to apologize for what appears to be a misunderstanding, but I was always honest with you, and I pride myself on being honest with all of my customers. The $250 you paid was a significantly discounted cost. This does not represent all of our marketing efforts. This was ONLY the photography. There were many other costs involved in marketing your home that you were not charged for after cancelling your listing after just 21 days. The reason the home did not sell was the price was drastically above the appropriate market value, which we also discussed in the initial meeting.
