    I’m sorry to hear you felt disappointed with the process, and I’d like to clear up a few points so others reading this understand what happened. First, in New York, real estate professionals are prohibited from receiving any kind of “kickback” from attorneys, inspectors, or vendors. Neither I nor Genesis has ever — or would ever — accept compensation from the professionals we recommend. When we share names, it’s simply to provide trusted options, and clients are always free to choose their own. With regard to the attorney, our recommendation was based on ensuring a smooth and timely closing. The seller (our client) was on a very tight deadline, and we wanted to minimize the risk of delays by suggesting an attorney from our preferred network who strictly practices real estate. We asked multiple times for your attorney’s information, which was provided only after several days, and in the end your chosen attorney actually worked very well with the seller’s attorney — they had even collaborated before — which helped move things along. As for the home itself, we were upfront from the start that there was another offer in late-stage negotiations. After your own inspector completed the inspection, you decided to renegotiate the purchase price. Unfortunately, the first offer/buyer came in with stronger terms, and the seller made the final decision to move forward with them. We even asked if you’d like to match those terms, but understandably you did not. We know how frustrating it is to lose out on a home, which is why we also offered to cover inspection costs on your next purchase if you chose to work with us again. While the outcome didn’t go your way this time, our focus was always on transparency, protecting your interests, and ensuring the process was handled with professionalism and care for both parties.
