Kim, thank you for the feedback. Your input and constructive criticism is a crucial part of growth in this industry. However, I would like to clarify key facts that are vital to this negative review. Firstly, Justin offers a great service as a home inspector and businesses have different policies which I have no control over. Secondly, a home inspection is only ordered after an offer is accepted so to say that “getting nowhere with finding a house through Jon” is misleading as we were in escrow on a home that your family was excited about. Thirdly, I paid the $720 cancellation fee as a courtesy to you as I anticipated making up for the cost with a successful close of escrow. At no point in our working together did I ever mention the fee as I did not see necessary. Shortly after you wanted to cancel that purchase escrow, you mentioned you would not be working with me any longer which I did not fight your decision and even then, did not bring up the fee. The first and only time it was ever mentioned was on 2/9/2022 when you were 2 days away from closing your purchase to say I believed it was not unreasonable for me to make the request for reimbursement. Fourth, anyone looking for a home from 2019-2021 knew that most homes had 10+ offers and that one would have to compete at the highest level. My advice to submit the highest and best offer we could was repeatedly ignored as the consensus was that homes were overpriced. Yet I was the one who took the blame when we would lose to higher offers. In the end, what was meant to happen happened and although I was not a part of your success, I am happy for you and Ken.
