Nicole was my realtor for my first home and I cannot express enough how incredible she was! As being a first time home buyer and not knowing what to expect, she made this process as seamless as it could be. She was on top of everything and there when...

First off, I don't like leaving bad reviews on people. However, I think Nicole didn't do her due diligence in my home purchase or represent me as her client very well. I've never had a realtor that did so little in the way of my purchase agreement ...

Response from Nicole Powers on 5/15/2025

Nicole, we are sorry to hear you feel this way and about your experience working with us. Customer service is something we take very seriously on our team. I want to make sure we address your concerns, so I went back and reviewed the file. We have communication by text where Nicole spoke with you and advised you that you did not have to do an inspection, but it is ALWAYS in your best interest to have one done because there are things in the house we can’t see just by walking through it during a showing. An inspector will be able to find any unseen issues, so you do not get stuck with any costly repairs or major problems that you are not aware of until after you buy the house. We would never want that to happen to any of our clients, so we always advise them to get an inspection. I show that Nicole also paid for your inspection out of her pocket because you did not have the money at the time. When you made the offer on the house, I show text messages that she advised you that in this current market, a home like this would most likely sell over asking price. I see she also looked up what similar homes were selling for in the area, saw that the house was worth more than what the seller was asking, and shared that information with you. You and your son decided to put in an offer at the asking price. Despite the home only being on the market for a week, it was in great condition, and the owner was the listing agent; she was able to negotiate with the seller and get your offer accepted. I’m confused about this part of your review because we put the offer in at $198,000, and the appraisal came back at $216,000. Exactly what Nicole advised you would happen. I also show that the appraisal came back asking for repairs, and Nicole was able to negotiate to get the seller to pay for and make those repairs. At the time, it also looks like you expressed how happy you were with her service. I do see the seller said they would need 30 days to stay in the house after closing to have time to move, and yes, you did offer that to them. Reviewing the contract that you signed, I see that Nicole put in there that an amount of money would be collected from the seller at closing and held by the title company in case they damage the house or refuse to move at the time that was agreed upon. Isn’t this what you are talking about when you said, “She didn’t put anything in the contract to have him pay if he didn’t get out when he was supposed to?” We take what we do very seriously. We treat every one of our clients like we would our friends or family. We go out of our way to provide amazing customer service for our clients. You can see this by reading the 100+ five-star reviews left by our previous clients. We understand that sometimes mistakes happen. When they do we take the opportunity to learn from them and do everything we can to make sure it does not happen again. After looking over the documentation and communication during this transaction, I am not sure how you can feel that Nicole “didn’t do due diligence in your home purchase or represent you very well.” You also said you have “never had a realtor that did so little in the way of helping you purchase a home.” From what I see, she paid for your home inspection, she negotiated to get your house for $18,000 less than what it was worth, and even got the seller to pay and make some minor repairs required to close. I think most homebuyers would consider this a great experience. This one is a little shocking to Nicole and I. At no point in the transaction did you let us know you were unsatisfied with our service. It was the exact opposite from what I see in the communication. You told Nicole several times how awesome it was to work with her and how much you appreciated everything she did for you. I’d be open to speaking by phone to see if we can rectify this, if you are open to it. Robert Throneburg Team Lead Throneburg Real Estate Team
