I fell in love with the central coast when I moved here in 1977 to attend Cal Poly in the Crop Science department. Having transferred after two years at a private university on the island of Maui, I found San Luis Obispo to offer many of the same features I enjoyed growing up in San Diego and then studying in Hawaii. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980, I set off for a three-year adventure travelling the world.
